DIY Artificial Grass Installation

DIY Artificial Grass Installation

Usually the word DIY means doing a particular job on its own. In other words, instead of hiring people who specialize in that job or getting help from someone else, it means that we do it directly. This does not mean that you cannot refer to resources for assistance. For example, you can watch videos from YouTube before doing your job. That doesn’t mean you don’t do it yourself.

DIY is about researching the information you need to do something you are willing to pay someone else and what they really need to do for you, and developing the skills you need. If you do this yourself without help from someone else, you will be saved from extra costs and you will create a design yourself. DIY Installation is often used in the installation of artificial turf in the gardens of homes. As Hatko Sport, we are one of the leading artificial grass manufacturers in the world. Accordingly, you can know how much artificial grass you need. You can then access each accessory or item you need from our website.

First of all, soil preparation should be done. If you have used artificial turf on the ground before it should be removed from the ground first. After removing the old artificial turf, a 40 mm deep ground should be prepared for the new one. Also you can use mechanical turf cutter.

After the ground is prepared, then floor covering step starts. Spread a sharp layer of sand on the base to a depth of 35 mm. You can use hewavy builders.

Then the concrete is started. Make sure that the floor is dry and clean at this stage. No geotextile will be required on a concrete bases. After that you can pass the laying the weed membrane step.

  • Step 2 – Laying The Weed Membrane

Lay the material making sure that all edges are flush with the recommended grass edge. Make sure that all individual parts are aligned and overlap by 300 mm. Take the artificial grass and spread it evenly over the entire area and get a smooth look.

Trimming is An Important Stage For Artificial Grass Carpet Laying

  • Step 3 – Trimming

Allow some extra lawn length for a small amount of wastage depending on the design of your garden and how the rolls are laid. Using a knife, cut off the excess edges of the lawn as desired. Fold the excess artificial turf carpet to make it easier to cut along the edge and press down firmly after the edge. Cut the carpet into 10 cm strips along the floor.

  • Step 4 – Joining

Cut and cleaned Artificial grass carpet is ready to combine. Put the white support band between the artificial grass carpet and the floor. Secure the artificial turf carpet to the support tape using a few pins. Then apply the adhesive and glue the artificial turf carpet. Allow 24 hours to dry.

  • Step 5 – Ground Fixing Pins

Pin the edges using 150 mm galvanized ground pins. Make the edges firm with this process.

After The Fnishing Stage Your Artificial Grass Carpet Ready To Use

  • Step 6 – Fnishing

At the finishing stage all edges are trimmed, flattened and the artificial turf ground fixed. When the ground is corrected, all excesses are removed.

  • Step 7 – Enjoy

Your artificial turf carpet floor is ready to use. Now you can have a nice time with your family and loved ones in your garden covered with artificial grass carpet.
