Hoima City Stadium Achieves 5-Star Rating with Hatko Hybridgrass

Hoima City Stadium has officially been awarded a 5-Star Rating with the score of 100%, the highest recognition in the Quality Assurance assessment. The stadium, featuring Hatko Hybridgrass, achieved a perfect 115 out of 115 points across all key performance categories: Playing Quality, Physical Quality, and Turf Quality.

The independent Pitch Quality Assurance assessment by ProPitch on November 5th, 2025, evaluated both the main and training pitches of the stadium under rigorous standards. The perfect score demonstrates that the Hatko Hybridgrass installation meets the highest global standards for professional football pitches, making Hoima City Stadium a benchmark in hybrid turf quality.

This achievement highlights Hatko’s comprehensive expertise in Hybridgrass technology—not only in manufacturing the system but also in executing its on-site establishment, a critical phase for hybrid turf performance. Despite challenging weather conditions, the Hatko team delivered a flawlessly established surface, ensuring the Hybridgrass system reached its full potential. The result is a pitch that offers exceptional durability, high-standard playability, and consistent top-level performance, strengthened by the agronomic precision applied throughout the process. With this recognition, Hoima City Stadium joins a select group of venues worldwide that have achieved the maximum rating in pitch quality assessments.

Hoima City Stadium is set to serve as one of Uganda’s premier venues for national, regional, and international tournaments. With a seated capacity of 20,000, the stadium is designated as one of the three host venues Uganda will use for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, to be held jointly in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
